“Lady and the Tramp” is a Disney classic, and now it has new life. Like other Disney hits before it, including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and “The Lion King,” 1955’s “Lady and the Tramp” got a live-action remake. But there’s a big difference between this remake and those other hits: Unlike the prior remakes, “Lady and the Tramp” will not be coming to a theater near you anytime soon. The film did not get a major theatrical release, so you can forget about lining up for tickets. You also can’t watch “Lady and the Tramp” on cable, Netflix, or a whole bunch of other places you may be used to enjoying your favorite films and TV shows. You can’t even rent it digitally. So where can you watch “Lady and the Tramp” online? Read on!

How to Watch ‘Lady and the Tramp’ Online
If you’ve been following Disney’s big streaming push and our coverage of it here, then you probably have a good idea of what this list will look like. Disney entered the subscription streaming space in 2019 with a major challenger to Netflix: Disney Plus. Disney also controls Hulu, but the company has made it clear Disney Plus will get all things Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney classics — plus a whole lot of all-new original material. The Disney Plus service launched with some exciting original content, including a new live-action version of the beloved “Lady and the Tramp.”
Stream Lady & the Tramp for free on Disney+
Free TrialPretty short “list,” don’t you think? “Lady and the Tramp” is one of the original movies that debuted on Disney Plus when it first arrived in late 2019. Disney was no doubt hoping its Disney Plus original movies and TV shows could help it compete with — and perhaps even conquer — competitors such as Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. Considering it took Disney less than 18 months to reach 100 million subscribers worldwide, we’d say the service is off to a rip-roaring start! And that’s before the debut of series including “Loki” and “She-Hulk,” so there’s probably still room for growth.
“Lady and the Tramp” was the first big film to arrive with Disney Plus’ launch, but many more soon followed. Disney Plus will also be the eventual streaming home of many of the movies Disney will release to theaters, including all upcoming Marvel Studios films and all future Star Wars movies.
Some Disney films, such as “Mulan,” are eventually available to rent at Redbox kiosks or buy on sites such as Amazon or Vudu. But “Lady and the Tramp” is not one of them. If you want to see it, you’ll have to sign up for Disney Plus (or borrow a friend’s subscription, but that’s another topic). The 1955 version is available on some non-Disney sites, but not the 2019 version.

The live action version of “Lady and the Tramp” was released on November 12, 2019, the same day Disney Plus launched.
What Is ‘Lady and the Tramp’ About?
What is the new “Lady and the Tramp” about? It’s about the same stuff the original 1955 animated version was about. You know the story: A pampered, high-class cocker spaniel named Lady meets a streetwise schnauzer called Tramp (not the nicest name!), and sparks fly. They eat spaghetti in an adorable yet messy way, as all people and canines in love do.
Tessa Thompson voices Lady and Justin Theroux voices Tramp. Other stars include Yvette Nicole Brown (who plays a human character), Janelle Monáe (who voices a canine character), and Sam Elliott (who also voices a dog).
I am still a little confussed so I will need to watch lady and the tramp on my computer is that correct
Hi Linda, thanks for reading! You will need a streaming service and an internet connection, but you don’t necessarily have to watch on your computer. You could also use a smart TV, a streaming box like Roku (which basically just turns regular TV into a “smart” one), a tablet, a smartphone, or even some video game systems.
Can I watch the live one on Netflix and will it come out on DVD?
Will it ever be available on DVD? I really don’t want to purchase Disney+ …
I wish the Disney Company to release the movie of Lady and the Tramp (2019) Live Action Remake Film. We wanted to be release on regular worldwide theatrical films into theatres and the same with the other Disney movies too in the next future too, but it’s wrong for Disney Plus to hold back on those films. Streaming online films doesn’t cut it and also doesn’t count either. I don’t care about the streaming online movies into computers or anything else to watch something like that, we only want to watch into theatres on worldwide and eventually for them to be put on DVD and Blu-Ray in the every stores and markets. I always collect all Disney Films to watch on DVDs and Blu-Rays too, it’s life to watch them. That should tell everybody something this.
Is the latest version ever going to be available to purchase on dvd:blu ray?
Disney should be made to listen and put every single live action movie on Amazon prime for free.
