Nick Jr.

You want to cut the cord and save money, but the idea of denying your kids Nick Jr. (and denying yourself the moment or two of peace that you get while they're glued to the screen) is enough to make you second-guess yourself. How to Watch Nick Jr. Online Without Cable

First, the bad news: Nick Jr. is only available through a pay TV service. There is no way to get a free Nick Jr. livestream (or, at least, no legal way, and we're not about to tell you to break the law).

But here's the good news: There are other (better) pay TV services besides the legacy pay TV services like cable and satellite. You can cut the cord and opt for a streaming service that offers live TV. They're called skinny bundles, and they're beating cable at its own game, just like Netflix once did to movie rental stores.

Not every one of these skinny bundles offers Nick Jr. in its channel lineup, but some do. Here are the services to look at if you want to watch Nick Jr. without cable:

Can I Watch Nick Jr. on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Chromecast?

Streaming Nick Jr. on a computer or a tablet sounds nice, but what about a smart TV? Can you get your Nick Jr. livestream on major streaming platforms? You sure can! It's easy to get a livestream of Nick Jr. on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, iOS/Android, your web browser.

More to Watch for Nick Jr. Fans

What do you do when your kids get tired of watching Nick Jr.? Well, you can switch to the Disney Channel. It has a different lineup of shows, but kids will find them just as entertaining as those on Nick Jr. And, of course, you don’t need to worry about calling a cable company and signing up for an overpriced package, as you can read our guide to watching the Disney Channel without cable instead.

If you have kids, there’s a decent chance you’ve already given in and signed up for Disney Plus. It already has more than 100 million subscribers in less than two years of existence, so it’s not exactly a secret streaming service that only the cool parents know about. If you haven’t tried it yet, we think you’ll find stuff that both you and the kids will love. It has shows that will appeal to every age group, from preschoolers to teenagers. And family movie nights can return when you watch Marvel movies on Disney Plus. The service has won over a lot of skeptics, who thought, “Wait, why do we need another streaming service?” Disney Plus has quickly made itself almost essential, and you can find out why by checking out our Disney Plus review.

Noggin is available and seems to be the Nick Jr channel for online streaming. Yes, not live tv, but a 90 day trial is going on and seems to be $6 a month after. I haven’t tried it, but seems better than paying for a live tv streaming service after you’ve cut the cord like I did a little over a year ago. .

I was not impressed with Noggin at all. They listed a couple of shows as available on their platform, then when you sign up, there is only one episode of that show. We tried Noggin specifically for a couple of shows that were listed, so we were very disappointed to only find one episode of that show. We cancelled immediately.
