TBS is home to some of network television's best comedies, including “Miracle Workers” and “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.” It also plays host to Major League Baseball during pivotal playoff games. Are these good enough reasons to hold on to that old cable or satellite subscription? As TBS would say: very funny. The reality is that you can watch TBS without cable by firing up a TBS livestream on the streaming device of your choice, including major streaming platforms like Roku and Fire TV. It's no joke: here's how to watch TBS without cable.
How to Watch TBS Online Without Cable
TBS's shows are available on demand through various streaming services, but we're not here to talk about on-demand content: we're here to show you how to watch TBS live without cable. And when we talk about watching live network television without cable or satellite, we're talking about live TV streaming services, also known as skinny bundles.
Skinny bundles get their name from the slimmed-down bundles of network television stations they offer. Most live TV streaming services offer bundles that are smaller than those provided by cable providers, so you can say goodbye to those bulky, overpriced packages and hello to something a bit more svelte.

More to Watch for Fans of TBS
If you like to watch TBS, there are other networks you might like as well. We’ll talk about them in this section. As usual, you don’t need cable to watch any of the channels below.
TBS is known for its comedic content, but what if you feel like watching science fiction or action instead? Well, you can head on over to TNT, the sister station of TBS. The channel used to be known for its “We know drama” tagline, but it’s branched out a bit since those days. When you tune into TNT, you’ll find original shows like “Snowpiercer” and “Claws.” The latter is more of a dark comedy than a drama, for what it’s worth, but it still fits firmly within TNT’s brand. You can watch those originals, as well as blockbuster movies like “Captain Marvel” and “Justice League.” Go to our How to Watch TNT Without Cable page to find out more.
There’s one more channel commonly associated with both TNT and TBS, and that’s truTV. You’ll hear these channels discussed together during March Madness, for instance, as NCAA basketball tournament games air on all three networks. As you may have guessed based on its name, truTV has a special emphasis on reality TV programming. You’ll find everything from prank shows like “Impractical Jokers” to “Fast Foodies” there. The contestants in March Madness are vying for a championship trophy, while the people on “Fast Foodies” are trying to win the coveted “Chompionship Trophy.” You can learn how to watch all those shows and more by reading our guide to watching truTV without cable. And whether you choose TBS, TNT, truTV, or something else entirely, we think you’ll have no regrets about leaving cable in the rearview mirror. Not that TVs have rearview mirrors, but you get the idea.
TBS and Roku you cannot watch with DirecTV Now.
DirecTV Now offers TBS, so you should be able to watch TBS with your Roku. Have you contacted DirecTV Now’s customer support?
To pay any of these fees I might as well just pay for basic cable. What would be the advantages of paying that much and forgoing my cable subscription with Nulink? Thoughts.
Exactly…..
So I have a Roku Tv. And I have Direct tv and At& t.. will I be charged extra for using the TBS App on my television? Or is it free?
You should be able to access the app’s content for free if you log in with your pay TV credentials!
I have spectrum internet service,no cable. Can I watch the tbs app on my roku? I’ve downloaded the app and signed in but it won’t allow me access
Most apps like this put some or all of their videos behind a login requirement. They’ll want you to log in with pay TV credentials that prove you’re already getting TBS through cable or some other pay TV service. The good news is that you can access TBS with a “skinny bundle” service, and that you can also use the TBS app by logging in with credentials from one of those skinny bundle services. The bad news is that there’s no completely free option, other than whatever few episodes TBS and other channels choose to offer outside of the paywall.
Fubo is dropping TBS
Why post ways to get app for free by paying for a service? Cordcutting are ways to go back to the days where entertainment was free.
By the way, your solution is like – “get A/C for free”, just buy a car and turn on the a/c.
Yep. They should change cord cutting to wallet cutting!
My thoughts exactly!! Great analogy!!
