It’s time to cut those old cable cords in half. But how else are you supposed to watch your cable TV channels, including YES Network? Like almost everything else, live TV has gone wireless with new streaming services known as skinny bundles, and we’re here to tell you all about them. YES Network, which covers the New York Yankees and other New York sports teams, is relatively small and not available widely, but you have the options outlined below.
How to Watch YES Network Without Cable
A skinny bundle is a combo of live TV and on-demand streaming. Imagine signing into your Disney Plus account and watching the movies you love in addition to live TV channels such as YES Network — that’s exactly what a skinny bundle offers.
MLB.TV
MLB.TV streams every regular-season game across all of MLB, including Yankees games. Note, however, that blackouts will keep you from truly unlimited access.
You won’t be able to watch any nationally televised games (including all the playoffs and World Series games), for example, or any games played by teams in your local market. In other words, if a game is on TV in your area — whether it’s on ESPN or a local regional sports network like YES Network — then it’ll be blacked out on MLB.TV. It’s a great way to stream the Yankees if you live outside the New York area, but it’s much less useful for local fans.
One way to avoid blackouts is to use a VPN. Visit our guide to how to change your IP address if that’s your best option. And read our MLB.TV review for our hands-on experience using the service.
Most Popular Shows on YES Network
YES Network is basically the Yankees’ channel, so expect to find all kinds of content about them. To give you a more comprehensive idea of YES Network’s programming, here are some shows we recommend checking out:
- “The Michael Kay Show”
- “Swing Clinic with Jimmy Hanlin”
- “Forbes Sports Money”
- “Off-Field Fashion”
- “Homegrown – Bridge to Brooklyn”
More to Stream for Fans of YES Network
YES Network isn’t the only sports channel you can watch without a cable subscription. We recommend NFL RedZone, which is exactly what it sounds like: This channel is entirely devoted to all things NFL. The channel is so friendly with skinny bundles that it offers free trials. Read our guide to how to watch NFL RedZone without cable for more information.
Then there’s the MLB Network, your one-stop destination for all things baseball. You can catch games, interviews, exclusive stories, and more from the comfort of your home or wherever else you may be. Its commentary is unparalleled, and so is its behind-the-scenes access. Plus, you can watch MLB Network without cable.
I need to know, if there is a TV antenna that has to be used inside the apartment. The management does not allow antennas on the outside of the property. We have tried all inside ones and always the same problem, you have to be repositioning the “antenna” for almost every channel you change to. I will really appreciate, if you know of an antenna that will work.
I have Sling Blue but no YES, why?
Roy, Sling TV, unfortunately, offers YES in select markets only. You can check what channels are available in your location by clicking here.
I have Hughes satellite internet. Their steaming ability is very limited, even with the new gen 5. I live in an area where cable internet is not possible. Is there any other option for me to get stations like YES?
According to the above story, YES is available on Hulu and Sling (as well as others) but I just checked their advertised lineups and that does not seem to be true. YouTubeTV looks to be the best deal for those of us who want YES.
As of right now we live in NY and switched to DirectTV Now for the YES network come to find out it does not matter what package we have. There is NO YES Network! Not sure what the YES network is doing but it is ridiculous!!!
WE LIVE IN VEGAS… WE HAVE HAD DIRECTV FOR YEARS AND THE YES NETWORK IS ON OUR DIRECTV! NOT SURE WHY YOU ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM! SORRY!
Not anymore. DTVNOW & Fubo both lost YES

Live in NY have the $84 DirectTv package and get Yes network
DirectTV DOES have the YES network. You just need to be sure you have upgraded to their premium service. I switch mine up to the premium plan during baseball season, and knock it back down to standard plan during the off-season. Hope this helps.
Food for thought about baseball and broadcast TV: If public money was used to build a stadium (that is, for example, Yankee Stadium), does it make sense that a percentage of games should be broadcast on a local TV station? Should the number of games broadcast locally be proportional to the percent of dollars from the public coffers to the total cost of the stadium?
I throw these thoughts out there as baseball has gotten too greedy.
Also, I wonder what is the outside interference in baseball availability (from external investors and/or corporations, like Sinclair Broadcasting).
Love to hear what CordCutters thinks, as well as regular readers.

What is this?
Quite frankly, I don’t know why there is such a big fuss about these streaming services. Yes they are cheaper but having tried You Tube tv and Hulu live, I have to say the picture is not as good as the picture I get from DirecTv. Until the picture quality improves I don’t see these as a viable alternative.
I have Hulu how can I get the yes channel since Hulu dropped them
