Spectrum Internet Fees
- Installation fee: $59.99 ($24.99 for self-installation)
- Internet Gig activation fee: $199.99
- Advanced WiFi fee: $5 per month
New Spectrum customers can choose between professional installation and self-installation. Professional installation is recommended if you’re subscribing to TV service or if you’re not comfortable configuring your own WiFi router. If you want to save money, Spectrum provides a self-installation option.
Spectrum includes a modem free with all plans, but there’s a $5 WiFi fee per month to rent it. You can avoid the fee by using your own equipment, but with Spectrum’s WiFi devices, you’ll have access to the company’s customer support and technicians who know how to troubleshoot their own routers.
Other Ways to Save on Spectrum Internet
- Seniors: Customers can take advantage of Spectrum’s Internet Assist Program, with which they can receive a credit of up to $30 per month toward their internet plan if at least one member of their household is a recipient of the Supplemental Security Income assistance program (applicants ages 65 or older).
- Low-income subscribers: Spectrum is part of the Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides $30 per month toward your Internet service (or $75 per month for residents of tribal lands). Qualifying members can receive a special 100 Mbps (wireless speeds may vary) plan with in-home WiFi, a free modem, and a self-install kit at no monthly cost.
